Welcome to part 20 of my 32 (plus bonus post) part series on awesome albums from the most awesome of decades, the awesome 80s.
This is yet another album that i no longer own in physical form, Martika's 1989 self-titled debut album. There is something about female vocalists that is a little off putting for me (maybe it is their insistence to opera things up and overkill the vibrato, or hit insanely high notes) - at least that is limited in the pop world. Well, anyway, Martika's debut is actually a decent solo effort. Maybe that is because this is an 80s pop sound. This album was somewhat successful behind the big single "Toy Soldiers".
Notable Singles:
* "Toy Soldiers"
* "More than You Know"
* "I Feel the Earth Move"
Other Singles:
* "Water" (Remixed version)
Other Songs on the Album i Kind of Like:
* "Alibis"
* "Cross My Heart"
* "If You're Tarzan, I'm Jane"
* "It's Not What You're Doing"
* "See If I Care"
* "You Got Me Into This"
