Welcome to part 23 of my 32 part series of the awesomeness that was 1980 album releases. Compared to today, there is no comparison. 1980s = good, today <> good.
Anyway, this post deals with the 1985 debut album for Mike and the Mechanics. Mike and the Mechanics was a side project for Mike Rutherford from Genesis. The vocals were handled by Paul Young (not that one) and Paul Carrack. "All I Need a Miracle" was awesome enough to push this album onto my list, but as a whole - this album is not bad. They also had a pretty solid second album (which contained "The Living Years").
Notable Singles:
* "All I Need is a Miracle" - so true
* "Silent Running"
Other Singles:
* "Taken In"
Other Songs from the Album (some are kind of awesome):
* "Par Avian"
* "Hanging by a Thread"
* "I Get the Feeling"
* "Take the Reins"
* "You Are the One"
* "A Call to Arms"
