My Dream Tablet: Tablets Revisited

It is funny how spending 45 minutes in a library (also known as wi-fi hotspot) with nothing to do got me thinking about Tablets again.  If i could get a Fire for under $150, i might do it.  So how is this post different than my previous ones?  Well this one is what my current dream tablet (based on price) would be like.

i have been looking mostly at Android - because that is basically the current alternative to Apple (not gonna touch an Apple product).  The ASUS (memo) 370T apparently has been repurposed and down- specced into a lower cost Google Nexus tablet.  The 370T looked kind of interesting.  i bet it would still be easier to buy apps via AMZN.  i have misgivings about the Android platform... for one i am not a fan of open source, i view it as a phone platform that was thrown into tablets, etc.

So here is my current dream tablet.  Their are probably several things wrong with this (like certain parts being too expensive.

Zune Tablet:
- Price: $249.99
- OS: Windows 8 (apparently releases in October)
- Memory: 16 GB internal
- RAM: 2 GB (1 GB would probably do)
- Processor: Dual Core 1.2 MHz or faster (or quad core)
- SD Card Slot (or mini SD - up to 64 GB)
- USB Slot:
- Mini HDMI Out
- Camera: Rear facing 5 MP (hopefully enabling use of pre-paid cards through camera)
- Battery Life: 7-10 hours with Wi-Fi on
- Screen Size: 8"-8.5"
- Screen Resolution: 1200 x 800
- Screen Material: Gorrila Glass
- Screen Backlighting: LED
- Other: XBLA type games - maybe some cross-platform, hotmail/live account or Outlook version, Internet Explorer mobile version, increased SkyDrive storage, ZunePass available, Zune mobile streaming enabled, Windows Office Web Apps level stuff, etc.

Basically, i think it would be cool to have a Windows 8 tablet version.  In some ways kind of like the current Windows Phone 7 setup (but newer and without the phone part).  i don't mind the Metro UI and think it could work decently on a tablet.  This would be priced near the bottom of the line of the Windows 8 Tablets (let HP, Dell, etc make the bigger/more expensive Windows 8 tabs).
