Am i an invisible hominid? i think so.
So, a while ago i tried an experiment where i had a Facebook account for about 3 months. i was curious what Facebook was and how it operated (sort of). i found the commercial aspects of the service to be more interesting ways for more informal communication between businesses and customers. However, i did not find the whole social part of that to be usefull (outside seeing a little bit about what some of the people i grew up with were doing). Hint, they were more successful and had more satisfying lives (at least it appeared that way).
i proved a point to myself that i am likely invisible (not just when nobody is looking). i guess a series of personal and professional failures do that. It could also be that i don't really like people and i tend to avoid them (and social situations). My views on humanity are kind of bleak in general. i guess it is cool that i am not memorable in any way.
Now i decided to take it a step further. This time i activated (or did i?) Google Plus -with a spartan (at best) profile - i didn't click finish on the profile. i think i will keep this up for 3 months to see what happens.
OK, strange people out there... i added a couple things to my profile (the profile at Blogger is a little more indepth). Now maybe you could find it if you had the inclination (for whatever reason that might be).
There is one social media thing i don't want to experiment with - Twitter. i don't see a real purpose (and if there is one, it can be done through other outlets). If you've read any of my posts, you can probably see that keeping anything to 140 characters would be hard for me.
