Well, here it is... i'm musing semi-randomly (because true randomness does not exist).
* Daylight Saving time - i looked at the calendar (it's the paper thing on the wall with the months and days) and noticed that on Sunday, Daylight Saving Time starts again. Daylight Saving time should never have existed. It is inferior in every way to standard time. Can't believe some people actually prefer it. How much daylight does the time change save? Absolutely none.
* Finally used the Netflix gift card my alleged sister gave me for Xmas. i used to have Netflix in the past, but left when i got tired of cost increases, they put Susan Rice on the board, and gave a bloated production deal to the Obamas. Since then, i have most used Hulu (cheap Black Friday deals) and Paramount Plus. The thing Netflix does the best is creating accounts without the need for credit cards.
* Have been "watching" Night Court in the background. It is one of my favorite series of the 1980s (the best decade), thought it definitely has some "clunker"/leftist episodes. Finally finished it after having it for two years. 193 episodes takes, a while to finish.
* Only one unwatched TV show on DVD/Blu-ray (sort of, series was cheaper than a few seasons. Replaces 4 seasons on DVD with BR) - Big Bang Theory (279 episodes, 5,675 minutes - 94.5 hours truncated).
* Already purchased: a puzzle, an anime show, and a couple (or three) AFI movies for Solstice 2026 (in the unlikely event it happens for me).
* While i was watching Night Court (mostly in the background), i was finally playing Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters on my Xbox Series S. i beat the first five games eventually. i used the boosts (XP, money X4). Only beat III and IV cleanly. i looked up 1,2, and 5 (haven't finished VI). From those 6 games, the series is kind of overrated. In most games, i maxed out the levels.
- Hate when i have to look at walkthroughs to figure out where to go.
- The first one was traditional. The boss in the first one was a bit of an annoyance for someone who doesn't like to use buffs.
- The second game had a bit of a weird level system based on using skills (yes, attacking yourself early to build up HP and defense is a valid strategy). The second game boss is ridiculously easy if you got the Blood Sword in the limited time (right before the Cyclone) it was available. Kind of a pain if you didn't (replayed hours from a previous save to get it).
- i don't like the job system (too many useless jobs).
- Enough with the fricking status effects. They are so massively overused (and are annoying).
- Starting with IV they switched from a more traditional system to a metered system (not a fan, timers cause me a little anxiety). Especially annoying with a bunch of items or spells to choose from. They also added annoying things like timed escape events and more gimmick boss fights.
- VI - hard to play. Separate parties and the like. Couldn't maintain interest.
- FF VII with a 2D pixel type remastered would be preferable to the rough 3D models the game launched with. Don't like the battle system on Final Fantasy Rebirth (played demo).
i've only ever played Dragon Quest XI S: but it left a better impression than Final Fantasy. Dragon Quest 1&2, 3, and 7 are on my Xbox wishlist (come on 50+% off).
