Just Saying 8

Finally, Just Saying post 8 is a reality (well after i click the publish button).

i gave myself LEGO Notre-Dame Cathedral as a birthday present.  An annual "tradition" since Architecture sets tend to release around August 1st.  Last year it was Himeji Castle.

What did i do my B-day weekend?  i built a cathedral, you?

This was the biggest Architecture series set to date, weighing in at 4,383 pieces (the 10,001-piece Eifel Tower isn't an architecture series). Also, the most expensive one too.  Kind of reminiscent of the LEGO Creator Expert sets that were retired long before i bought my first set.

i got my first LEGO set right before the "15 days to flatten the curve" thing.

i finished this one a little quicker than i though i would.  Finished this in 2 days (not sure on the hours, but probably under 15).  The Mega Constux sets were fewer pieces but took me longer.

Probably the best-looking Architecture series set. At least the box is not one of those garbage eco ones (cut tape to open not punch out perforation). This one had all it pieces (at least ones needed to complete), not sure Himeji Castle (seemingly missing 1 piece) or Taj Mahal (missing 1 piece) were complete.

Downsides?  The thick paper manual (393 steps) is kind of crappy paper.  If you drop a piece in a various stage of construction, kind of hard to pieces get out.  Lots of little pieces to knock out.  Several pieces look bendable, mainly - antennas, spires, and star wands.

Is it a little repetitive?  Yes, but all architecture sets are.
