What semi-random thing pop into my head today (not sure true randomness exists)?
1) Waiting sucks. i could have done this weeks ago, but i guess i am honing my restraint by waiting until my B-day (if it happens). Never a guarantee, seems like every year the odds get worse. Feels kind of like i'm just running out the clock. Still got a little while. Picture time...
2) What have i been doing. Playing video games on Game Pass. Have "beat" a few. Put numerous hours into RPGs. Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes - an average (at best) game with the worst controller drift i have ever seen. Virtually unplayable. Also, enough with the stupid, unnecessary mini games. if something is billed as a "spiritual successor", play the original.
3) Shocker: i didn't watch a presidential "debate". Seeing geriatric candidates "debate" (in name only) is not my idea of a good time. Spoiler alert: definitely not voting for Biden (but then again, i never was going to). Remember, i am a conservative (if you're a glutton for word salads view my MCMr tag).
4) Some of my personality quirks: i hate waiting but have to be early for everything. i want things to be organized (i even play solitaire by putting the suits in alphabetical order). If i cannot plan something (like life), it drives me crazy basically to inaction (not talking complete Cameron Frye). i am incapable of "going with the flow". Easily frustrated with a hidden perfectionist streak. Not a people hominid. Every big chance i have ever taken has blown up on me.
5) Still getting movies from the library. The quality of movies has really declined this millennium. Guess that is what happens with 10 minutes of credits (with hundreds of names in the "digital effects" sections alone).
6) My alleged father (i still assume i am an alien or was created in a lab) died 3 years older than i might be chronologically this year. He died of cancer two days before my birthday and the funeral was 2 days after it. Happy 16th birthday to me. Feels like in some ways i'm still stuck at 15. i wanted the whole "normal experience", but i guess it was never in the cards for me. Never stake your future partially on the whims of others. The "new normal" sucks.
7) i kind of want a 2024 Canadian Siver Wooly Mammoth (2 oz) from their Ice Age series. Someday i'd like a silver proof from the US Mint of Morgan and Peace dollars (such decent designs).
US coins were so much cooler before they started putting presidents on them. Mercury Dime (now the front of the palladium eagle), Morgan, Peace, Saint-Gaudens (gold eagle), Liberty Walking (silver eagle), Buffalo Nickle, Indian head penny, Barber, etc.
8) i like $2 bills (especially 1976 - that year really has no significance). Too bad so many of them have the corners ripped off of them. Some view that "deuce" relates to 2 and is also slang for the devil, apparently.,
9) Every year, for the past couple of years, i have put together my previous years LEGO sets. This year, i'm not sure i'll have the space to do it. Assuming there is a July, for me...
10) Fourth of July. It used to be kind of fun. Spending allowance/lawn mowing money on fireworks (getting lots of free ground bloom flowers - if you place them right, they won't stay grounded). Throwing Pop-its at siblings' feet. Now it appears society has wussified it. Gone are the days of "light it and run like hell". Fireworks are banned in many places. Reminds me of the South Park episode with the snake.
