Well, another Xmas has come and gone. Yes, to me it is Xmas. You'll see some signs of Rankin/Bass. i don't like editing/cropping.
A family member got me a LEGO Star Wars Advent calendar. Not really a decoration. i'm not a huge fan of micro builds (LEGO Classic builds are more well done). For the price, you'd probably be better off getting a real set (though there were a few mini figures). The image below is a representation of some of the contents. Also difficult for me is that i'm not overly familiar with Star Wars animated spin-offs and i still contend the prequel trilogy never existed.
Years ago, some action figures were released that covered Santa Claus is Coming to Town. i think i have 2 completed unopened sets (outside the SD Kluger Mail vehicle). i was going to sell these on eBay at one point but got burned out on it. Also pictured are my LEGO Winter Village sets (someone put a poinsettia on my table) - better image last year Just Saying Merry Xmas. What does poinsettia (a Mexico/Central American plant) have to do with Xmas? The next picture shows one of my favorite Rudolph action figure sets (i only have 2, one is on the first picture), Santa's Sleigh and Reindeer team. Also looks to be the CVS/Stuffins Frosty the Snowman that my oldest sister gave me.
It should be noted that the Xmas tree in the picture is not mine, i borrowed it from my youngest sister (still older than me). i have 1 or 2 trees i got on clearance from Walmart. This tree has a smaller footprint (i think 10" smaller diameter). It is hooked up to an AMZN smart plug and set on routines to turn on every day at 4:15 PM and turn off at 9:15 PM.
Once opened and put up the first time, an artificial tree will never really be the same when put away. i wish i had the space to leave an Xmas tree up all year, but this place is packed.
i do have some ornaments, i just didn't feel up to actually decorating the tree this year. Last time i used my ornaments (not balls), Professor Hinkle one disappeared and has never been found. Not a great December for me. Who knows if there will be an Xmas next year for me (at least any semblance of a traditional-ish one). Sometimes i almost doubt the next year part.
Next up, is more Stuffins that my oldest sister sent me. There wasn't a CVS near me at the time. The following picture, i think, is both small sets 1998 and 1999. i guess one of these did not show up on the picture: the Cowboy who rides an ostrich.
Would i have liked the big versions of these? Yes, but no way was i going to pay $300 each for the spotted elephant and the doll on the secondary market. Unfortunately, some of these (and the Universal Monster ones my oldest sister also sent me) suffer from a problem with boot like surfaces peeling off, or kind of leeching off (slightly staining, bags or other figures).
In the foreground in my 3-foot fiber optic tree a(another Walmart clearance) and some small blown plastic figures.
One last thing. Yes, i do use Bark Box Rudolph dog toys to decorate. Weird, huh?
