I know, a bit of an oversimplification... but why is it that women are portrayed as being only centered on one political issue?
Is it the economy that impacts every aspect of life? No. Is it the woefully inadequate school system? No. Is it world affairs? No. Is it the truly misguided beliefs in "equity" or man-made "climate change"? Thankfully, no.
It is abortion. i cannot understand why so many women are pre-occupied with abortion (mostly used as a form of birth control). Especially when stuff like contraceptives exist. i guess they can't be held responsible for the consequences of their actions.
Now, i'm not at all aligned with feminist ideals (you know the anti-realistic fight against biology and evolutionary roles). Roe v Wade was a deeply flawed ruling - a verdict looking for a flimsy rationale (by redefining certain "rights"). Courts cannot create/legislate a right.
i'll define abortion as a medically unnecessary procedure to terminate a pregnancy for convenience. Life theoretically begins at conception, but pregnancy requires some sort of implantation (so morning after pill is not abortion if it only impacts implantation).
Ultimately, the female is the one who gets pregnant, so she bears most of the responsibility. None of this forced vasectomy nonsense.
The concept that this is the one defining issue women seem to get behind (probably inflated by media) is sickening. The lack of morality here is disturbing. i know feminism did a number on the "modern" woman, but this.... They are basically saying the most important thing a woman can do is kill for convenience (the hitman analogy is at play). While i view abortion as deplorable (and view those who had them as making a monstrous decision), it should have always been up to the people - with absolutely no government funding for providers (and not forced to be included in insurance).
Yes, i have met a few people who had abortions (one college "girlfriend's" friend or family had one, i always suspected it may have been her). Would i date a person who had an abortion? Maybe. One evil decision is troubling - but maybe they are not completely a monster. i would definitely think less of them. If i was dating one and she had an abortion, a baby would not be the only thing she was aborting (the relationship).
