Windows 10: It Still Sucks (Currently)

So, i have had Windows 10 for a little while now (a work week of time) and am not impressed.  i "upgraded" from Windows 7.  Eventually, maybe Win 10 will run better - but not yet.  It is running maddeningly unwell on this computer.

i expect an OS to just work.  Windows 10 is currently not working like it should.  i'm having all kinds of problems.

* It is slow: boot times, wake-up times, app load times, shutdown time, etc.  In every one of these, it is doing worse than Win 7 did.

* Start Button, Cortana and Task Bar Problems: it seems like half of the time the start bar does not work like it should (only right clickable), the programs in the task bar (outside Chrome, which i also have a desktop shortcut to) are rarely clickable also.  Cortana is slow and likes to stop working. Restarting the computer (sometimes multiple times) should not be the only fix for this type of thing.

* Edge Browser: Internet Explorer had some stability issues, but at least it would start up.  Edge, not so much.

* Errors: today i got a "critical error start button and Cortana" won't load.  You can't do anything in that situation but restart.  That kind of thing should never happen.

* Freezes and hangs: i have had some hard freezes (now it won't let me even try to run Windows Defender - after it hard froze during a scan).
