Windows 10 Upgrade

Today i finally got the notification that my Windows 10 upgrade was available.  So how is it going so far?

* The notification window seemed to be stuck on an early window (before accepting the Terms of Use and right after the notification), so i had to go to Windows Update to install it from there (a semi-common issue with Windows 7 updates).  When i updated it, it took 2-3 hours to finally install.

* Sign-in: for some reason Windows 10 would not accept my password (though i know it was right), i signed in on my Surface RT (Gen 1) and it automatically signed me in to Windows 10 - at least it appeared that way

*After that, i had a hard freeze - and had to restart it (taking another 5 or so minutes to boot up)

* Windows 10 is supposed to be fast, right?  Why does it seem like boot-up and regular operations seem to be running slower?  Edge is not nearly as fast as i thought it would be (hopefully it is more stable than IE).

* So far (and it's very early), i like Windows 8.1 better than Windows 10.  i prefer the tiles to the desktop.

- one of these days i'll probably have my desktop updated.

edit:
* Now when i woke the computer up (notebook), none of the things in the task bar or system tray or "Start Menu" are doing anything).  Unless i have a shortcut on the desktop, i can't do anything.

This is not a good first impression MSFT.
