Happy Winter Soltsice

Winter Solstice has come yet again.  The longest night of the year* (except certain places in northern latitudes, like AK).  Whether you are a pagan/neo-pagan, Saturnalia lover, or use it as a semi-Xmas like i do.  i hate summer, so i don't celebrate that inferior solstice.

i have used it for years as a day to give myself presents i have purchased throughout the years.  It originally started with Black Friday cheap Blu-Rays and video games, then i added toys (usually some form of retro element involved and LEGO/Mega Construx).  With the far superior Ultraviolet, my alleged brother had access to my digital copies too (Movies Anywhere sucks).

In past years, my Solstice has been filled with TV on DVD. However, this year there are far fewer TV on DVD/Blu-Ray that i wanted than in the past.  i did get 3 LEGO sets (one was purchased in March,2 that unexpectedly went on sale), but the two i was most interested in didn't go on sale this year.  The Disney stuff i was interested in is getting far more limited (if it is in print at all) and the movies i want on the AFI Top 100 list is further waning.  i ordered a Blu-ray and AMZN sent me a DVD, bleep (they fulfilled the order too).

This year was a very anime solstice (i guess that technically is TV on Blu-ray too).
