My Surface RT Report: March 2013

Well, another month has come and gone (like months typically do).  So how have I been enjoying my Microsoft Surface RT this month?

I am still using it mostly as an Xbox portable (with some email).

Issues:
* Connectivity: but that I guess that is mostly the result of the router (i'm having intermittent issues on my notebook PC and Xbox 360 too)
* Scary Graphical Glitch: I was playing a game (Samurai vs Zombie) and the graphics glitched big time.   Basically, I was displaying mostly green vertical lines for about half the screen.  I quit out of the game and the graphics on the interface were slightly messed up.  A restart seemed to fix this.  Hopefully this was just a one time thing and not a hardware failure issue.

* Battery Life: I am not getting 8 hours.  I think I am getting about 4-6 hours per charge (I guess games are battery drains).  I actually charged the Surface 2-3 times last week.
* My Surface runs a little hot (not notebook hot, I can just feel a little heat)

* Pre-paid card MSFT.  I know I sound like a broken MP3, but I would like a retail available pre-paid card that covers the Windows Store (preferably before the next Xbox hits).  I guess the Xbox Next launch would be an ideal time to launch a cross platform card (hopefully like the current system - I like points rather than real currency).

Xbox on Windows Surface App Stuff:

New Games Since Last Time (actually in the last week):
* Bejeweled Live [$4.99] - or free for me as I downloaded it on 2/1 when it was up on the store for a couple of hours.  It does require an update though.  I do have an issue where it hangs in the load screen before the menu
* Samurai vs Ninja (free to play): a sort of side scrolling tower defense games (without the towers)
* Shuffle Party (free to play): I can't get the hang of this one (whether aiming or shot power).  Basically variations of shuffleboard (two - bowling and shuffleboard).

i'm seeing this free-to-play method picking up.  It is an interesting concept.  However, some games (Samurai vs Ninja, cough cough) should not tip their hand as much.  I think they have something on the store for $99 real money.
