i went to Target today to pick up a season of a show on DVD (of course they have one of the worst prices for it - but i didn't feel like walking the extra 1.25-1.5 miles to get it). While i was there i decided that my candy supply was getting depleted. The last bag i bought was a 200 piece mini bag featuring Butterfingers, Baby Ruths and Nestle Crunches. i bought it on September 18th and i only have 35 pieces left.
Target had a promotion where if you bought two bags priced at $9.99 each you would get a $5 gift card. These bags of candy retail at Walmart for about $8.88, so i guess it is an ok deal if you factor in the gift card (actually $15 vs $17.76 if the gift card is included).
The Hershey Bag (supposedly 95 pieces - i only got 93):
* Whoppers: 44 bags of 3 (47.3%)
* Reese's Peanut Butter Cups: 16 (17.2%)
* Almond Joy: 20 (21.5%)
* Heath: 13 (13.9%)
What a bummer, 47% of the candy in the bag was Whoppers (i'm not a big fan). If you do the math, it looks like i am missing two pieces. i liked the other three kinds of candy so much better.
The Nestle Bag (Supposedly 90 pieces - i got 95, i think)
* 100 Grand: 12 (12.6%)
* Baby Ruth: 22 (23.6%)
* Butterfinger: 41(43.1%)
* Nestle Crunch: 20 (21.0%)
Awesome, a lot of Butterfingers (one of my favorite types of candy). That accounts for about 43% of the bag. My least favorite in this collection is the Nestle Crunch - i wish i could have traded a few of those for a few more 100 Grands. The distribution of candy in this bag was about what i expected. i thought that the Nestle Crunch would probably had about 30% of the content of the bag (being that it might weigh less than the others).
However, my numbers could be slightly off if i mixed the Baby Ruths and Nestle Crunches up with some of the existing minis i had. It didn't feel like i made that mistake, but i could have.
