Here is what i wish the 2012 Seattle Mariners roster would look like. This will be significantly off. i filled in some of the blanks with apparent free agents. This is a really bad list (and a pretty bad team). i'm more interested in the AAA team than the major league team. There aren't a lot of middle infielders in the minors that should be taking bench spots on the major league roster.
SP:
* Felix Hernandez
* Erik Bedard (free agent)
* Michael Pineda
* Jason Vargas
* Blake Beaven
Bullpen:
Closer: Brandon League
Set Up: David Aardsma
* Shawn Kelley
* Josh Lueke
* Chance Ruffin
Long / 6th starter: Jamie Moyer (free agent, coming off injury)
Infield:
C: Miguel Olivo (by default)
1B: Justin Smoak
2B: Dustin Ackley
SS: Brendan Ryan
3B: Kyle Seager (though he is not likely a long term solution)
Outfield:
LF: Ichiro (that's right i said left field)
CF: Franklin Gutierrez
RF: Grady Sizemore (free agent, doubtful)
Bench:
C: Dioner Navarro (using random free agent names, that or Gerald Laird)
UT: Chone Figgins
OF: Casper Wells [or Rick Ankiel (free agent, doubtful)]
DH: Mike Carp
SS/2B: Clint Barmes (free agent)
1B/3B: Greg Dobbs (free agent)
AAA: Basically, i want to see the following players at AAA: Michael Saunders, Greg Halman, Carlos Peguero, Carlos Truinfel, Alex Liddi, James Paxton (kind of doubtful), Mauricio Robles, Adam Moore (probably as a 1B). i wish that Nick Franklin would have been healty enough to get a full season in AA last year.
i get a feeling that at least one of Michael Saunders or Greg Halman won't be with the organization next season.
