NFL Playoff Predictions 1/19/14

It feels weird to write 14 in the year spot (US date format).

So anyway, today marks the win and you're in the Super Bowl game.  It's a battle of teams in areas where I may or may not have "existed" vs teams from states I cannot stand.  Seattle must be interesting right now, they are such a big bandwagon town/metro area.

Today sees the Denver Broncos (previously ridiculed in the Simpsons, then they won two consecutive Super Bowls) vs the New England Patriots.  There will be many "Omahas" uttered.
Wild Prediction: New England 38, Denver 31

The second game is between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco '49ers.  As if the Calivermin menace haven't been trying to turn Seattle into San Francisco 2.0 for decades.
Wild Prediction: San Francisco 16, Seattle 9

If you can't tell, I'm not a fan of MA (at least no team from NY made it) and CA.

Ok, first one was a little off Den 26, NE 16.

I've never really been a fan of football anyway (always seemed too slow to me, and I don't know about any sport where 300-400 pounders can be called "athletes").  It seems like 70% of the "play time" is just killing the clock - and they kill the clock when they don't need to also.

The second game, forget it... Seahawks suck, I can't believe they actually made the playoffs with their highly questionable offense (ill timed penalties).  They were kind of like reverse Denver Broncos - decent defense, questionable offense (Denver was good offense, questionable defense).  Oh well.  Seahawks aren't good enough and play like it.

I guess go Broncos, massacre the '49ers.

Now second one finished... somehow the Seahawks managed to win (must be defense).  23-17.  Not impressed by Russell Wilson - they could probably be doing the same thing with Tim Tebow that they are doing with Wilson (at least in the playoffs).  After watching a bunch of Peyton Manning this year, Wilson isn't even on the same planet talent-wise.  He never will be and is extremely over-rated QB who struggles to finish scoring drives.

This time I doubt the Seahawks will be beaten by questionable calls by the referees.  The Super Bowl Shouldn't even be close with Denver taking it with enough offense (since they don't need great defense against Seattle).
