I know it sounds weird to be disappointed about the lack of flooding when some of the people further to the north (and east got hammered), but I am a little bit. Hey, i'm disappointed by a lack of blizzards too. However, I won't miss things like potential sewer back-ups and power failures. There is one city where they are not allowed to take showers or flush toilets for about 10 days - now that would be brutal.
I guess the chance of this place flooding are remote anyway. There is a creek running behind this place, but it would probably need to be at least 15' higher (or about 5 meters) to get near the back fence. There wasn't even water across the roadways near here. Yes the creek was running a couple of feet higher (maybe, but probably not) than usual (which was somewhat interesting to see) and it was running fast - but that is about it. There wasn't even a "lake" in the back yard. It was a little swampy, but no big puddles. There was more rain than usual, but the totals were significantly lower than some of the surrounding areas. The carpet in my room did get a little damp (probably due to a design flaw with a window well).
So, there are no real dramatic pictures - as it was kind of a non-event here. I know that the emergency alert system works here though. I'll have to try and find some "before pictures" for the creek. It looks like I don't have any "before pictures" so I guess i'll have to do so "after pictures" eventually. So here is what I have (sorry, I accidentally bumped the dial and everything was taken in portrait mode - I usually take it in auto no flash mode).
