So I went to Wal-Mart today and possibly bought an item I shouldn't have (or a few). No, I will not tell you what (and hopefully nobody else will either). Ok, I bought some less expensive Blu-Rays, that is all anyone needs to know (no one title over $10).
I was surprised about how organized it appeared (at least where I was). Maybe volume of people was down or something. 6 PM seems a little early though (maybe 7PM would be better). I didn't do video games this year, so I mostly avoided that circus.
As for an earlier Black Friday spilling into Thanksgiving.... I don't view Thanksgiving as a real holiday anyway. It is just another day, nothing special. It must suck for those poor retail workers to potentially get paid holiday pay for working a few hours.
In many ways I find the earlier opening hours better than getting/staying up at/until midnight, 6 AM, or something like that. I was done with the entirety of my shopping trip by 8:30 (and it only took that long because someone in front of me at the checkout line took forever. I should be done stimulating the economy for a couple of weeks, at least.
